March Calendar Page

Well I finally made it back to my blog before the end of the March to post my March Calendar page.  With Spring break and all I can't believe this month is already over.  Actually I am glad it almost over, because this has not been my favorite month so far this year.   Let's just say, too many emotional ups and downs thrown at me making each day difficult!

Loved how my March page came out with my little bunnies hopping across my page to Easter Sunday!

Happy Easter all!

Built some snowman...Florida Style

Since here in Florida we don't ever get to build snowman out of snow, I went ahead and built some snowman out of fabric.  Let me tell you it's a lot warmer and the best part I don't have to worry about him melting.

Aren't they so cute?

Made some hot chocolate to warm up. After all it' was 59 this morning. Burr!!!!

I'll be back in a few days to share a few more of my Winter Froclicing blocks.  I am on a mission to finally finish the blocks.

Who's up for the Tattered Florals Challenge by TIm Holtz?

I usually don't do challenges because I often think my work is just not good enough to enter.  This weekend I had some time in my studio and since I happen to have the Tattered Floral die why not!  Beside, my OLW is Choose , so I choose to take on the Challenge and have fun with it.

I knew I wanted to make something to put out around my house.  I have been making little canvases for each of the holidays after getting hooked on Christy Tomlinson's "Winter Whimsy workshop" this past December and then inspired to make something with flowers since taking "Brave Girl Art School 1"  class.

I had picked up some dollar frames at Goodwill and decided instead of using a canvas I would use this frame.

I added a little white and pink paint. Pulled out some coffee filters and using my Tattered Florals die cut out some flowers.  Then using my Dylusion sprays (Bubblegum, Pure sunshine) I added life to my flowers.

For the leaves I used scraps of Quilt batting and cut some free form leaves and then sprayed with some Dylusion Dirt Martini spray.

For the Phase "Love Blooms"  I used my Creative Memories Storybook 4 software and found this phase that I colorized using Gradient with Pink and Orange to match my flowers.

Next I used my "On the Fence" die by Tim Holtz and painted it with some Picked fence crackle paint.  Behind the fence I added a little seed packet from K&Company that I had laying around the matched my colors perfectly.

Love how it turned out and will enjoy!  So thanks Tim for challenging me because I already won in that I now have this beautiful spring frame to remind me of the beauty of SPRING!!!  Winning your challenge would be a BONUS!!!!

Can't wait to see what everyone else creates using the Tattered Florals die!

Folicing with my Winter Quilt

I finally picked up my Frolic Applique quilt again this winter season.  I have been working on this quilt for over 3 years now and getting close to completion. For some reason I only work on this during the winter months.  Guess that's why it's taking me this long.

My daughter is waiting patiently for it to be complete, as she has already made claim to it. I am going to finish it up this year, I promised her.

I am using Kim Diehl technique for applique using freeze paper but instead of machine applique I am doing by hand.  Like having projects to work on while watching TV with my husband in the evening after a long day at work.  It's my relaxation!

Here are a few of my completed blocks

This is what it's going to look like when it's finally finished.
