Art Journaling w/Dylusions Sprays

I have been in love lately with my dylusion sprays by Ranger.  Have every color and can't seem to put them down.  They have become my go to medium when I sit down to work on my art journal.  After attending a class last year with Dyan Reaveley, I was hooked.  Loved the all the new techniques she taught us like masking, ghosting and using the watercolor brush to paint in the images.

Here is one of my journal pages completed with Dylusion sprays, Tim Holtz dies and Dyan's stamp.

Oh did you hear about the new color WHITE announced at CHA Winter this week.  It's on my wish list!

Art Journal Calendar Project 2013

Eight days into 2013 and I am got my creative juices flowing.  Found this project while on Kate Crane's blog called "The Kathryn Wheel".  She has been doing this yearly art journal calendar for a couple of years now.  Since one of my goals is to be more disciplined in documenting my days. This seems like the perfect start.  You only have a 1x1 square for everyday, so less intimidating for those that just don't know what to write daily.  I often think my days are just ordinary and boring. Because all I seem to do it work, cook, clean, relax and squeeze in creative time.

Excited that this project statisfies two purposes: playing with my art journal supplies and documenting my days.

Here is a sneak peek of January Page.  I'll come back each month showing my completed month and the next months page.

Come join me it's not to late!

All it takes is One Little Word

Did you notice a change in my blog today?  I decided my blog needed a face lift to reflect my One Little Word for 2013.  Instead of making a New Years resolution that never seems to last anyway.  I thought I would  join the BigPictureClass with Ali Edwards where you decide on a word (mantra) for the year and focus the year on this ONE LITTLE WORD.

I made a list of several words that popped into my head, like Choice, Choose, Breathe, Decide, Listen, etc.  Then I went to the dictionary and Thesaurus to study the words.  After reading each words meaning, the one that stuck with me the most was "Choose".  So that's what my word for 2013.

I am working on my our first assignment and once I am done I will come back to share with you.  One of the first things I did to prepare was to put my word out there so I won't forget it and can see it often.  So now you know why my blog header changed.  I hung my word there, as well as made my self a bracelet to wear.

Thanks to the skills I learned in Brave Girl Art School last year, I was able to put my Leather making skills to good use!

So that's my word and I am really excited that I can Choose anything I want 2013 to Be for me!!!!!

Happy New Year!
