She is in love!

Have you ever tried something new out of your comfort zone? Well, this summer I signed up for an on-line class called SHE ART Workshop by Christy Tomlinson and I am having a blast. I am surprising myself on how creative and easy it is to create beautiful art with all kinds of cool stuff.

For those who know me are probably saying "Oh, no.... that's all she needs is another hobby!" Well, I am hooked and added one more hobby to my bag of crafting love! Mixed Media/Art Journals.

I am only in Week 2, and have create 3 girls. I feel like a kid again playing with paper dolls and dress up! I have my husband even interested and says he could make a better dress then I. I told him, why don't you make HE ART to go with my SHE ART. Great concept, RIGHT!

My older sister was over last weekend and she saw what I was doing and got hooked as well. I am still waiting to see her finished SHE. She cut the weekend short because she wasn't feeling well, but I heard that her SHE girl is done.

Well, after all that I bet you want to see them.

Week 1 - My 1st She girl

SHE left her fears behind!

Week 1 - She finds comfort in her Friends!

Week 2 - She loves the everday!

There will be more, once I return from vacation and finish up Week 2 and 3. My daughter has already picked out the theme of my next girl! She wants one for her room.

Happy Creating all!

In the Sun - Summer Journal on-line class

Finding something to do this summer that was different wasn't hard. One of my goals as been to improve my daily habit of journaling and have been admiring all those art journals in the blog world. I found a free on-line summer journaling class offered by Natty called In the Sun. Head on over to visit Natty using the link on my side bar called "n the Sun" and see what's it all about. Maybe you would like to join us? I am sure it's not to late.

I am a little behind, but sure I will catch up soon. My delay is due to vacation planning and then still working on loading all my digital content into my new laptop. Did I tell you I just hate doing this! Wish them darn viruses would just stay away from my little old laptop!

Here are just a few of my recent pages that I have already posted over Flickr to share with the group.

Are you going to join me? I hope so.....

It's recital time in our home....

Caution.....Sorry but I am a proud mama, so in this post I am going to brag how wonderful my daughter is. Can't believe another year of dance is over. I love watching the changes in the girls from year to year. My daughter makes me so proud! She has really become an amazing dancer and I look forward to watching her get even better each year. She only has three years left and it's hard to believe she has been already dancing for 11 years. She was in 4 dances this year!

I took 300 pictures and spent the day going over them one by one to decide which ones to keep and which ones to discard. I am getting better at taking pictures at these events, However, they make it so hard when you can't use your flash, the girls are in black and they don't use much lighting.

Here are just a few I picked out to share today.... the rest will be in her scrapbook!

Jazz (she is in the middle)

Her first recital on Point. She has been taking point for three years and this was the first time I saw her dance point. She did great! She is the beautiful ballerina in the center on point.

She is the one in the center laying back like a flower petal opening so gracefully!

She is in the center again on below.

In the Sun - Summer 2011 Digital Journal

Today starts the 1st day of the "In the Sun" on-line Art Journal class being offered by Natty. Want to check it out click the button on my side bar.

Thought it would be fun to capture the beauty in these summer through everyday pictures. I spend most my day working in doors and forget how lucky I am to live by the beaches and plenty of sunshine. It may be hot, but I can surely live with hot better than the cold.

Here is my introduction page, hope you enjoy my summer journey, looking for the beauty in everyday!

PS. Credit for this photo go to my daughter who left on my computer the perfect picture for the start to my summer journal.

Looking foward to an amazing summer of art journaling!

Returning from my blogging break...

It has been since January since I have blogged and I have missed all of you and hope you didn't write me off. One of my life's Joys needed me so I had to make him the priority.

It's been 12 long difficult years of watching my son struggle in school. I have had to devote many hours of help to make it happen and have learned alot about the school systems that swears to not leave a Child Behind!

I have experienced some wonderful teachers and some not so wonderful. My personal thanks to those teachers that stuck with him and dedicated to their career.

I am proud to say, he did it! Graduated High school and I couldn't be happier. This was one of the items on my 100 things to see/do in a my lifetime.

I can't believe it's already June and I have been busy planning our summer vacation. We are heading to the New England area and plans are almost completed.

Also started an on-line Mixed Media class offered by ChristyTomlinson called "SHE ART Workshop". Started it this week and absolutely love it and recommend it if you love Mixed Media art. I feel like a little girl playing with paper dolls again! I was hoping to be able to show you my first two SHE GIRLS, but vacation planning got in the way and didn't get a chance to finish them up.

Off to finished vacation planning and get ready for work tomorrow! I will be back!
