Homemade gifts

There is nothing like the joy and pleasure I get from making homemade gifts for friends. I would like to share with you what I made for both my amazing talented friends.

Priscilla aka "Simply Cila" who is a talented scrapbooker and paper crafter. We were introduced in 2003 by a neighbor when she found out that I scrapbooked. Well, we have been buddies ever since. Getting together when our family time permits and doing what we love best. Scrap booking or paper crafting. I made this apron using the Donna Downey canvas apron. I embellished it with vintage lace and dollies, hand embroidery.

Love the way it turned out. What do you think?

Tucked away in the pocket, I made a vintage tag to go with it.

Next, was Beverly's gift. You see Beverly is a quilter and when I say Quilter I mean Quilter. She lives 3 doors down and had been my inspiration, teacher, shopping buddy, quilt show buddy and I owe all that I have learned from her talents and patience with me as I learn the art of Quilting. I made Beverly, a travel needle book made from to store all her needles. I experimented with free motion writing and was proud of the way it turned out. This was a very freeing project.
Don't you love it?

What did you make this year?

Christmas weekend past us

Monday night and all is quite at home. I am sitting here reading about all the wonderful White Christmas's you all have had. We didn't experience a white Christmas, but the weather is very cold and breezy. It makes it very hard to want to go out side and get anything done, and I don't even have to mess with snow blowers or snow plows. I really don't now how you all do it!

I must share my beautiful Christmas weekend with you all. It was extra special this year because we were all together for the 1st time in years. In the past years, my sisters have moved away and my brother who has always lived away made it home for the holiday.

We took alot of pictures, ate lots of food, had lots of laughs and enjoyed the time together making more memories together.

Here we are all my siblings together with mom and dad.

Here we are the whole family together.

Then on Sunday we celebrated my parents 50th Wedding anniversary at our home. It was a success! Mom and Dad we are proud of you testimony to marriage and sticking with it through the good and the bad days.
Spent my day putting my house back together then took a nap, I was exhausted. So on this freezing night I am going to snuggle up with my hubby and pups and go to bed early.
To all a good night!

Our Home for Christmas

With only days away from Christmas, I am starting to see things come together and get a little free time to take some pictures of my home for you all to see. I love the glow of the white lights in my home creating a cozy warm feeling, especially since we are experiencing an early winter for Florida.
As you can see I really kept it simple this year and tried to enjoy it, more then stress about it. I decided to pratice something that I struggle with and that is to "LET IT GO". It wasn't easy but I've almost made it. I am ok with not winning the lights contest last night. I am ok with not sending out Christmas cards.

Here are my cookies all completed and ready for packaging so that I can wish all my friends and neighbors a Sweet Christmas! I love this tradition and so do my friends and neighbors!

I am finishing up some special homemade gifts for my special friends, who like me adore anything homemade. Can't wait to show you them when I am done. But you will have to wait until they are delivered. Don't want to ruin the surprise!

Are you all ready for your Christmas celebration?

I am really looking forward to having my whole family here this year. It has been so long and everyone has grown up so much that I treasure the chance to all be together in one place.

Thanks to all for sharing your home this year on "Christmas 2010 Tour of Homes". I truly enjoyed stopping in for a visit. Thanks for stopping by to visit our home!

Have a very Merry Christmas!
