Confession of a Nibbler

Week 2 into my 90 day Sister Weightloss challenge and let me tell you it is a challenge. You see temptations are all around me everyday. And I struggle to keep away from them. I just love food and if it is around, hungry or not, I want a taste. That's where the nibbling comes into play. Until my sister pointed it out a couple years back I really never thought about it much. But since her honesty(Thanks sis!), I have been more aware and talk to myself many times to just walk away. Some days better then others! This weekend, the voice in my head just didn't want to listen and I nibbled.

Are you one of those that tend to nibble and don't even realize it? What do you do to avoid the NIBBLE?

I try and not do dishes because I tend to pick at the kids plates. God forbid I let good food go to waste, RIGHT! (At least that is what that little voice tells me!) Now that my daughter can do dishes it becomes some what easier, but she is often not around too to save me from myself all the time. So I need to try and find other creative ways to stop myself. Any suggestions?

My Inches Away chart

Well, like always the first thing to go it the boobs. Guess it's my trade off, and with the wonderful bras they have out on the market today, who needs them!

Hey little sis, hope you saw progress this week, like I have. Here's one of my favorite quotes to get us though Week 3.

"Life is not the way it's suppose to be. It is the way it is! The way you deal with it is what makes the difference!" by Virginia Satir

You can apply this to many aspects of life, whether it be weight issues, home, work! Learning to deal makes all the difference!!!!

Let the Challenge begin.....

You see it all started last week when I received an email from my sister challenging me to a on-line weightloss challenge. See we both have struggled with our weight for ever it seems and as we get older it just isn't as easy to get it off. So since it is always easier with friend support, I decided to give it a try. We decided on the rules and put an award at the end for the one that with the most weight loss. The looser, gets to buy the winner a new outfit for her new body!!!

And the best thing about it is there really isn't any looser, because any loss of weight is a win in my book.

Last night my measurements were taken along with what my husband calls the rubber tire measurement. Let's just say I am no 36 - 26- 36! But who knows I could get close!!!!

Starting Weight 1651/4 (GOAL 145)

Arms 13 1/4
Thigh 25 1/4
Chest 37 3/4
Waist 37 1/2
Hips 43 3/8

Belly(rubber tire) 38 1/8

I leave you sis with this quote!

In order to SUCCEED, your desire for SUCCESS should be greater then your FEAR of Failure!

Dancer of the Year!

To our surprise and excitement when my daughter was announced at her Dance Recital this past weekend as Dancer of the Year 2010.

She has been dancing for 9 years and has blossomed into a beautifully talented little dancer. It is amazing when looking back at all these years how much she has grown in so short of time.
We are extremely proud of her!

Making the Call....

Yep, after sitting on the number for over a week, I finally made the call today to the nutritionist. I have been struggle for way to long to loose this extra 20 lbs I have been carrying around with me and need to get it off before I loose it. Lately every attempt I make in loosing the weight results in weight gain and I haven't a clue what to do anymore. I am at the point of not wanting to eat anything and my sugar keeps crashing and then I feel like S___t. Thank god for big shirts, I am at the point of buy a bigger size or keep wearing pants with top button on done covered by the big shirts. I am going to be buttoning those pants back up soon!!!!! You hear me RIGHT!!!!!!

I made an entry in my Art journal today to reflect Brighter days ahead!!!!!!

Three steps taken:

1. Making the call

2. Stop beating self up

3. Remain positive - I can loose this weight!!!

Wish me luck!!!!!

Memorial BBQ on Tuesday!!!

Well since my kids were to busy with friends this memorial weekend attending BBQ's and end of school year pool parties, I never got the chance to BBQ. So tonight, I decided to fire up the grill and make a recipe I found in the June 2010 issue of Cooking Light. It was super easy and great BBQ taste with a twist of Southwestern flair.
Doesn't this look yummy!

Here is the recipe...
Grilled Polenta with Spicy Steak
4 tsp canola oil, divided
3/4 tsp kosher salt, divided
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp chiptole chile powder
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
1 flank steak
1 tube of polenta, cut into 8 slices
1/2 cup crumbled queso fresco
1 ripe peeled avocado, sliced
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1/2 cup fresh salsa
lime wedges(optional)

1. Combine 1 tsp oil, 1/2 tsp salt, cumin, chile powder and pepper. Rub over steak. Grill Steak about 6 minutes on each side. Cut into thin slices.
2. Brush oil over sliced polenta, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill polenta about 3 minutes each side.
3. Plate steak slices, polenta, avocado slices, sprinkle crumbled queso fresco cheese and fresh cilantro and fresh salsa over steak and Polenta. Server.

You don't need a holiday weekend to enjoy a nice grilled meal in the sumertime! Enjoy!
