Was this a fast week or not? Compared to last week, this week just flew ride on by. Beside the typical activities, we had fun going to Vinnie's 1st track meet, going to the movies to see Valentine's Day, not cooking all weekend, taking my mom to her 1st quilt show, spending the day at Lion Country Safari with my daughter and hubby, finding a little time to quilt.

What brings me great pleasure is watching my kids in their activities. Today, I never thought I would see my son run as fast as he did. My boy who loves SPORTS made me proud today when I saw him running in his 1st track meet. Growing up he has tried just about every SPORT that he possibly could. He may not be the star member of the team, but just being part of the team makes his motivation and determination when playing so powerful. Let's just say he lives for SPORTS and that is not an understatement!
Here he is running.
Now he stayed strong in the pack in the 100 meter just up until the last half, when he made the mistake of checking to see if anyone was behind him. In the end, he didn't finish last, which surprised him, since last night, he stated that he was probably going to be left in the dust. That was not the case today , so watch out runners, he is determined to get to the finish 1st.

Received a sweet belated birthday present today from my amazingly creative friend over at Simplycila. I was so excited as I pulled out each little piece of this gift. Each spool of lace was presented with a special touch of either a ribbon, button, vintage earing and pins. Oh, how I love lace and this little box was filling to the brim with all sorts of gorgeous lace and vintage cloths. Stuffed inside was also two magazines, Sew Somerset and Apronology. Can't wait to find a quite corner to cuddle up and go page by page through these two books. I know they will be giving me lots of inspiration to create somthing using all my new lace. Thank you so much Priscilla for my wonderful gifts! ILOVE THEM!!!!!
After spending the week watching old family videos of the kids when they where young we realized that time as flown way to fast. We miss those day and find that as the kids grow we spend less and less time together. When Vinnie pulled out the video's this week, and asked us to watch with him, we were hesitant, but then how could we resist sitting there for hours with him, when up until this week, I barely saw him unless he came in to give me my good night kiss.
So since the kids don't want us chasing them around the house with the Video camera any more, I have decided to capture our week in daily photos.
On Sunday's I will show you our week in review. This will give you a glimpse of what our life is about on a weekly basis and best of all, I will have captured monents in our day to day life together as a family. I only wish I had started this in January, so by the end of the year (if I can stay committed), I would have a complete album with snapshots of our year all in one album. Wouldn't that be too cool! Check out our 1st week.

Guess what arrived in my mailbox today? My Simply Love swap goodies from my swap partner over at Sweet, Sassy and Oh So Classy. I was so excited when I opened it to find lots of crafting supplies to play with. I plan on making some cards with all this. As Brittany picked up from my blog, I love to scrapbook and paper craft and I will definitely have fun making things with my new supplies.
Oh and need I not forget the chocolate kisses! Yummy, my favorite. Well tonight I was not that disciplined with not picking after dinner. I probably ate about 10 kisses and feeling it. Guess I have to run an extra mile at the gym tomorrow. It was all worth it!
Brittany thank you so much for my goodies, and it was really fun to meet some fellow bloggers out in bloggerland. I wish I could send you some warmer weather from Florida! I love the snow, but can't handle the cold for long periods of time. Don't know how you all survive it!
A big thanks to Katie over at Simply Love Swap for organizing this swap and giving me the opportunity to meet some new blogging friends. I am just getting started blogging so this was a great way to get exposer to this world.
Brittany I am going to send you a card using my new supplies. Thanks a bunch!

Happy Valentines Day everyone! I had a beautiful weekend spending time with my husband and since the kids were busy with their friends we had a lot of time alone. We went to the movies and saw to chick flicks back to back on Saturday ("Dear John" and "When in Rome"). Highly recommend "Dear John", as for "When in Rome" wait for DVD release. Today, was a typical Sunday of getting chores done and meals for the week prepared. I made Southwestern Meatloaf, Chicken Salad Casserole, Pasta Fagoli, and greek cucumber salad. While I was busy in the kitchen early this morning, my husband went out and brought me back some beautiful yellow roses. He hates holidays, so always running out to get the cards on the last day.
After relaxing for most the afternoon, I decided to get off the couch and play a little. I completed my 1st page in my art journal. The theme was Love, figured appropriate since today is all about LOVE! What do you think?

This year the north has been getting hit hard with winter storms one after another. I read my fellow bloggers stories and see the pictures of the snow piled up around their home and you know I have never appreciated living in Florida as much as I do this year. The summer may get HOT, but I can always hide indoors away in the A/C. In the winter the cold comes inside and even with the heat or the fire on, there always seems to be a chill in the room. And layers of clothing to much to carry around can't be bothered.
Last night we had our winter storm blow in and it looked like a hurricane coming on. Yeah, the down side we can't go out side and have a snowball fight with our kids or friends. My bright side, I don't have to go out side and water the plants. Here's what it looked like for about 30 minutes as our winter blast comes upon us.
This morning, we wake up to a cool brisk morning, where I only have to wear sweats and a long sleeve shirt. What are you doing this morning, shoveling snow of your drive way so you can get out of the house?
Make it special on this cool brisk day!

The party's over and the boys have gone home! All Happy because their team won. Me I am Happy that the Saints Go Marching Home and the traffic will be light again on I-95.
Now it's late and need to get to bed, because I must go to the gym and work off the chicken wings, frys and chips.
